Following a brief time as a model for fashion, she quickly transitioned to acting when she appeared as guest actors on television shows like Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. The actress made her debut in film in the documentary Nowhere. She made the transition to important roles thanks to her performance as a character in American Beauty for which she was nominated for an BAFTA Award and American Pie and American Pie, both of which gained the attention of the world.
